Winter Warmer Hot Chocolate

As we are now heading into the winter months, it is turning cold enough outside for us to start hankering after the warm comfort of a mug of hot chocolate. However with most commercial hot chocolate being crammed full of refined sugar (up to 69.5g of sugar in a large flavoured hot choc at one high street coffee shop) or artificial sweeteners, flavourings and preservatives etc etc etc, it seems only sensible that I should pass on a recipe that gives you all the satisfaction of your usual hot chocolate but with none of the guilt. So here it is................
* Just to note that the raw cacao is packed full of magnesium which aids restful sleep and relaxation so this is a great evening drink.
Of course hot chocolate is for sharing so this recipe makes 2 mugs;
- 2 mugs coconut or almond milk
- 2 heaped dessert spoons raw cacao powder
- 1 dessert spoon honey, coconut blossom syrup or maple syrup
Whisk all ingredients together over a low heat until fully combined. Pour, serve, and enjoy.
